Full citizenship also means asking who appears in the data, who gets heard and which realities are missing from public decisions. Eva García Socias, an advocate for the rights of autistic people, brings those questions to the 4th Asperger World Meeting 2026.
Who is Eva García Socias?
Eva is an Asperger woman diagnosed in adulthood, with ADHD and high abilities. Her path combines lived experience with association work: she is secretary of Asperger España (CONFAE) and president of Asperger Baleares. She has also addressed Spain’s Senate and Congress of Deputies.
That combination of personal experience, community work and public advocacy lets her name questions many women may recognize: how their needs are identified, what support they receive, which barriers they encounter and how policies can avoid leaving them out.
Why visibility for Asperger women matters
Asperger women need spaces for specific listening and knowledge. This is not only about speaking about them; it is about gathering their own experiences, needs and proposals so they can reach public administrations and decision-makers.
That is the starting point of The Asperger Woman Observatory. It will gather voices, generate knowledge about women’s reality and bring it into public-policy discussions, helping improve policies and advance the defense of their rights.
A view grounded in the community
Eva’s contribution reminds us that inclusion does not end when someone appears in a diagnosis or a statistic. It also requires listening to how people live, what support they need and which changes they consider priorities. For families, professionals and Asperger people, knowledge built from lived experiences can lead to better questions and more useful answers.
Her talk belongs to the Rights, support networks and full citizenship block, a fitting setting for an initiative that connects Asperger women’s voices with institutions and better social responses.
